Nell Minow Movie Mom Gorgeously imagined settings, a great cast, and an exciting story that hits the exact sweet spot between funny-scary and scary-funny. Rated: B+ Oct 19, 2020 Full Review Christy Lemire RogerEbert.com It's hard to figure out exactly what Talalay and Co. are aiming for here. Babysitter's Guide is never truly scary but it's also never all that funny. Rated: 1/4 Oct 16, 2020 Full Review Robyn Bahr Hollywood Reporter The film often sinks beneath the weight of its viscous plot. However, it burbles and thrives in moments that rely on aesthetics over story. Oct 15, 2020 Full Review Nicolas Soto But Why Tho? A Geek Community A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting‘s premise was both unique while also fitting in terms of something that many viewers can relate to. Rated: 8/10 Jan 22, 2023 Full Review Selina Lee In Review Online It's refreshing to see a horror movie, even a family-friendly one, that's predicated on resilience rather than revenge. Jun 5, 2021 Full Review Diana Mangas Los Interrogantes A fantasy and adventure film with which the youngest will have an entertaining time and with some horny monster along the way. Idan Charles L Ok. This is a movie, It's a movie It's a kids movie. Rated 3/5 Stars • Rated 3 out of 5 stars 04/17/24 Full Review Jordan C Terrible waste of time. I would say at least kids will enjoy it, but even my 8-year-old wasn't impressed. (Also, I can't imagine the amount of brainwashing it takes to make a 15-year-old actually afraid of "inequality" and "climate change" as the main character was. it hurts me) Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/28/23 Full Review Vada D it was very entertaining. never too scary, but still might make you say "ah!". good movie for the whole family, and we always watch it after trick or treating. 👍 Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/01/23 Full Review Shaheed B This is a fun movie, they had a great opening with a character introduction and then the rest felt like a cat and mouse chase, but something felt abit off like they wanted to put alot in without giving more context and rushing everything, I think this movie should have been longer, the babysitting scene should have been longer, the party definitely should have been more indepth and the babysitter headquarters was just there randomly and then the ending was rushed, this movie should of been atleast 2 hours. For a Netflix movie this was way more cinematic then I expected, the opening scene, the shadow monster, the lighthouse, and even though it's a kid movie so I didn't even mind the special effects of the monsters, it was all more cinematic than expected. The sound was really good, the music was basic but the bass really added the excitement. The ending make me think that they want to make another sequel but it's Netflix so I'm guessing they're not, so it sucks that they tease us with a sequel at the end. I want to give this movie a higher rating but I can tell a movie is half a**ing it and if they can't give us everything then why make it in the first place. Just an extra thought. theres a movie on Disney Plus, Don't look under your bed actually did this plot way better that was far more entertaining and the ending had a way bigger battle against the boogeyman. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 10/23/22 Full Review Frazzle Not Great acting, average Netflix money grab. Would only see it appealing to people aged under 10. Lack of jumpscares, only really one big one. "professional babysitter" arrives with no explanation. Can only really see the "Shadow Monster" as scary and not being a marketing point. Bullies are not very original. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 10/20/22 Full Review robert p Sorry but to infantile for me to enjoy as an adult but I am sure kids will enjoy this movie!
